Western Australian Endurance Rider's Association Inc.

A family friendly sport that upholds the principles of sportsmanship, horsemanship and the spirit of endurance riding as embodied by the motto "to complete is to win"

What do our Volunteers Do?

This position involves manning the main base radio where you will be in contact with a range of people, including the checkpoints, a roving hand who is keeping an eye on the track, and maybe a water cart person who is resupplying water troughs out on track.

Key duties

  • Talk to each of the checkpoints and note the times that riders enter a checkpoint (as called in by each checkpoint).
  • Liaise with checkpoints to deal with any requests from riders or people on track, such as calls for the rescue float, farrier etc.

As the base comms you are integral in making sure that what is happening out on track is reported back to base and ensuring that all the riders are safe and keeping up to the time allowances for their particular rides.
